As part of its Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) program, FPInnovations, an ISO-compliant Environmental product declarations program operator since 2011, has published the first product category rules (PCRs) for North American architectural and structural wood products. FPInnovations also published PCRs for a) pulp, paper, and paperboard products, tissue, and containerboards, as well as b) corrugated products, enabling the pulp and paper sector and corrugated product manufacturers to communicate environmental footprint of their products calculated using life cycle assessment (LCA) through EPDs.
New version coming soon!
The Product Category Rules for Market Pulp, Paper, Tissue products, and Containerboard manufactured in North America is expiring in August this year.
The PCR enables North American market pulp, paper, tissue, and containerboard manufacturers to communicate their environmental footprints in accordance with ISO standards with the highest degree of credibility. FPInnovations is planning to update the PCR in this year in collaboration with American Forest & Paper Association. The original PCR and forms can be found on FPInnovations’ Environmental product declaration services web page.
