SIPAD (intelligent remote performance monitoring) system
The SIPAD system enables numerous interactions between operators and their harvesting activities: data analysis, detection and visualizaton of anomalies, creation of customized reports, all while reducing expert intervention times. To benefit from this, a series of actions are essential. They are now available thanks to Internet access in the forest.
From harvesting head to SIPAD
Field support from FPInnovations’ specialists enables the harvesting heads on harvesting machines to be optimally calibrated. This is an essential step in ensuring that the machines’ on-board computers transmit the right information live to a cloud-based platform called Azure.
Once transferred, data are accumulated in a database. They then become available for SIPAD to operate and perform its work at a speed that would have been unthinkable until recently.
In parallell to day-to-day operations, exportation and storage of data enables a wide range of specialists (researchers, service providers, programmers, etc.) to improve harvesting operations in forest.
