Hamad<\/a>, gestionnaire de recherche du groupe Transformation et interfaces de FPInnovations, et Lacey Reid, ancien chercheur du groupe.<\/p>\n<p>Les actionneurs mous sont des mat\u00e9riaux souples r\u00e9pondant aux stimuli (<em>e.g<\/em>., les polym\u00e8res et les hydrogels) qui entra\u00eenent un changement de volume en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 un d\u00e9clencheur externe pour produir un travail m\u00e9canique dans un milieu particulier. Des chercheurs de FPInnovations ont mis au point une m\u00e9thode simple de traitement de solutions selon laquelle on m\u00e9lange de la cellulose nanocristalline (CNC) avec des polym\u00e8res non ioniques hydrophiles pour cr\u00e9er des hydrogels ioniques \u00e9lectroactifs. De tels hydrogels biopolym\u00e9riques \u00e9lectroactifs ont des applications potentielles comme actionneurs mous en biom\u00e9decine et en robotique.<\/p>\n<p>Les films autoportants biosourc\u00e9s \u00e0 base de CNC ainsi que les hydrogels nanocomposites comprenant de la CNC et des polym\u00e8res hydrophiles ont montr\u00e9 qu\u2019ils se comportent comme des actionneurs polym\u00e9riques anioniques en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 un champ \u00e9lectrique. La CNC a \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 du polyacrylamide non-\u00e9lectror\u00e9actif pour produire des mat\u00e9riaux nanocomposites pr\u00e9sentant de plus grandes r\u00e9actions de flexion induite par un champ \u00e9lectrique et une dur\u00e9e de vie plus longue que celle des films de CNC pure. Le taux de d\u00e9clenchement des hydrogels nanocomposites de CNC-polyacrylamide en solution ionique peut \u00eatre fix\u00e9 par la quantit\u00e9 de la CNC sulfat\u00e9e int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019hydrogel et par la densit\u00e9 des groupes sulfates pr\u00e9sents \u00e0 la surface de la CNC pour produire des actionneurs nanocomposites rapides (vitesse de flexion de 9\u00b0\/s).
