For People with Assigned Emergency Role

1-  Proceed to the command post with this Emergency Plan binder.

2-  Call FPInnovations’ Emergency Measures Coordinator at 778-731-1610.

3-  Assess the situation and determine which areas of the building must be confined and which areas, if any, can remain accessible.

4-  Use the Public Announcement (PA) system to deliver the following message:

Attention all staff. A confinement has been ordered. Please remain inside the building. Close all doors and windows and wait for further instructions. Do not leave the building until advised.

5-  Ensure all doors and windows are closed.

6-  Shut down or adjust ventilation and fresh air intakes, if required.

7-  Post confinement signages as required.

8-  Maintain communication with the Emergency Measures Coordinator.

1-  Remind the Tenant Representative to post confinement signages as required.

2-  Confirm with the Tenant Representative that:

  • Exterior doors, where appropriate, are closed.
  • Shut down or adjust ventilation and fresh air intakes, if required.

3-  Monitor information from official sources (e.g., BC Emergency Alerts, UBC Alert, emergency services).

4-  Maintain communication with external emergency responders and follow their guidance.

5-  End the confinement only when authorized by emergency authorities and it is confirmed safe to do so.

1-  Provide information on building systems to the Emergency Measures Coordinator.

2-  Remain available to assist the Emergency Measures Coordinator as needed.
